Southbend – Dance ShowCase

Guess what? I got invited to Southbend, Indiana, for a dance cypher showcase! We got to perform to any song we wanted, and we even got to cypher. That means we all stand in a circle and one person goes in the middle to start dancing. I have to give a huge shoutout to JDiggs for putting this whole thing together at the Rock Bottom bar in Southbend.

What made this so special was the love and support JDiggs was giving out to everyone. And guess what? People gave him love in return! My crew and I are always trying to support other scenes in Indiana. We don’t have a lot of people, but when we get together, it’s all about love and sharing the space. A lot of people are scared to go into the circle, but what they have to understand is that the circle is THE space to share. It’s the space where we come together and tell each other without saying it, that we see you. And you see us. It’s a circle of love and encouragement.

After the event, we decided to take some more dancing outside. It was so warm that we could actually dance outside again, which was really lovely. A stranger walking by saw us and asked if he could record us. That was so sweet. Only dancing can give you those spontaneous experiences.
